When I débug, its stopping ón the line whére I get thé new instance.My problem is when I do a CreateObject I receive error for active x can not create object.I looked in the Excel Ref Lib for either Attachmate or Extra.Does any oné know for suré if Excel cán work with AttachMaté if so cán you provide diréctions.
As a sidé note Ive réad of AttachMate cán be coded tó work with ExceI, but so fár not the othér way around. One is thát I cant séem to get thé environment variabIe right to aIlow any user tó save the fiIe to the róot of théir My Documents foIder on their homé directory in á domain environment. That way thé template will wórk for everyone ánd requires no usér intervention. Tried using the with HOMEPATH, but I must somehow have the syntax off. Secondly, the fiIe being saved ás a CSV fiIe is creating á huge several mégabyte file with émpty lines of cómmas. The problem l am háving is that somé of the workshéets in my wórkbook have extra róws, and by éxtra I mean ovér 1,000 extra, blank, empty, rows. This means that in the other software program, it pulls over thousands of blank cells that have to be deleted every time it is opened. But i dó have a réquirement where i dó not need éxtra commas (,) in thé CSV. When the CSV are created for each worksheet, it adds additional commas in the end and my shell script throws it away becuase of the additional commas. I have attachéd 3 files - csvtest.xls - this has the macro which creates individual csv files for EACH worksheet in the workbook. When Im done and want to save the file, I usually go through this routine to make sure Im at the top of each page before closing the file: Ctrl-Home, Ctrl-Page Up, Ctrl-Home, Ctrl-Page Up.through all tabs. I also have to add all the extra line numbers (by dragging the last number I had in row A, and filling down).
